What should be in an llms.txt file for a SaaS?
An llms.txt file is a Markdown file at /llms.txt with your product name, a one-line summary and a short list of links to your most useful pages, each with a one-line description. It is a proposal rather than an adopted standard, and LinkPing has no measurement of its effect on citations, so keep it small and treat it as low-cost, not proven.
Updated Markdown version
The format proposes an H1 with the site name, a blockquote summary, then sections of links. For a SaaS, a good version contains:
- H1: product name. A blockquote with one factual sentence: category, audience, what it does.
- A "Docs" or "Product" section: pricing, features, getting started, integrations.
- A "Policies" or "Company" section: security, terms, contact.
- An "Optional" section for secondary pages such as changelog and blog.
Example outline:
# Acme then > Acme is a time tracker for freelancers. then ## Product and lines like - [Pricing](https://acme.com/pricing): plans and limits.
Cautions
- Do not use it to show crawlers different content than users see.
- Keep it in sync with the real pages; stale lines mislead.
- It does not replace robots.txt, a sitemap or readable HTML.
LinkPing itself publishes /llms.txt and a Markdown copy of its public pages.

What is llms-full.txt?
A longer variant that includes the page content itself, useful for assistants that fetch a single file.
